Monthly Meetings
The Society meets at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of each month at the Safe Schools Institute located at 1790 NW Spanish River Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33433.
All orchid lovers are welcome to attend our meetings, check out what is happening and meet our members. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary – just an appreciation of the fantastic variety of the world of orchids and a desire to learn more!

Program: What’s wrong with this picture?
Presenter: Jim Roberts
Grower and hybridizer Jim Roberts of Florida SunCoast Orchids has been in business for over 30 years. He has traveled extensively in search of orchid treasures in Hawaii, South America, and Europe, seeking the plants that will grow and bloom best for his clients.
From 2004 to 2025, Florida SunCoast registered or originated 215 orchid hybrids in 60 genera, including 19 primary and 173 intergeneric with a strong focus on Cattleyas and Encyclias.
Jim has been a friend of the Boca Raton Orchid Society for many years and is a popular vendor at our yearly Orchid Shows. Jim is a passionate educator and a favorite among orchid society audiences for his knowledge, humor, and practical growing advice.
He will share his extensive knowledge of orchid problems with us at our meeting. Be sure to take notes; your orchid collection will definitely benefit!

Our Orchid Society
The Boca Raton Orchid Society began in 1989 with just 27 members. Since then, the Society has grown tremendously and now has a membership of more than 140 members. Our subtropical climate is perfect for growing an astounding variety of warm to intermediate temperature orchids in Palm Beach County. Each year our members enjoy several fun-filled orchid events, including an Awards meeting in December and the highlight event, our Annual Valentines Show & Sale scheduled for February 14 - 15, 2026.
